Story
Entrepreneurial Roots: I was born in Houston, TX. My father started his own business while I was in middle school. At age nineteen, I left college to run my own small business. I taught swim lessons to help people, of all skills levels, achieve their life goals. My students included toddlers, triathletes, double amputee veterans, and terminal cancer patients. These experiences inspired me to expand my horizons and I began training for the military.
Military Service: I feel lucky to be a veteran of U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) — a.k.a. the bomb squad. I deployed overseas with teams including Navy SEALs, Marine Special Ops, and Army Special Forces. Overall, the brave peers and brilliant mentors I met while active duty shaped me as a leader. I led high achieving teams ranging in size from 4 to 50+.
Intense experiences reminded me how time is scarce. During my final year of service, I balanced remote classes and with full-time work, including while deployed in South Korea.
Lifelong Learning: I left the Navy to finish school in New York City. At Columbia University, I walked on to the varsity rowing team, led veteran advocate initiatives across the Ivy League, and graduated Magna cum laude in under 2 years. Instead of taking job offers, I pursued entrepreneurial goals and completed an MBA at The Wharton School.
I feel fortunate to have a well-rounded perspective informed by lifelong entrepreneurship, military service, coaching, sales, marketing, real estate, consulting, venture capital, and enterprise SaaS.
I am happiest when able to lead dynamic teams, solve problems that create value, and learn on a daily basis.
